CCCOER Media Kit
Purpose
Community College Consortium for Open Educational Resources is a joint effort by the Foothill-De Anza Community College District, the League for Innovation in the Community College and many other community colleges and university partners to develop and use open educational resources (OER) and especially open textbooks in community college courses.
The primary goal of the Community College Consortium for Open Educational Resources is to identify, create and/or repurpose existing OER as Open Textbooks and make them available for use by community college students and faculty. We seek the support of faculty to identify, review, evaluate, and make available high quality, accessible and culturally relevant model Open Textbooks.
The Community College Open Textbook Collaborative is a two-year project by the CCCOER. The project is funded by The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation from July 2009 through June 2011. For details, see the Aug 10th press release.
The Community College Open Textbook Project was a one-year feasibility study by the CCCOER to determine sustainable production models for open textbooks. The Project was funded by The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation from April 2008 through March 2009.
